idk man, i get that and appreciate your pov, arent they just another member of the working class getting their surplus labor stolen by corporate slime balls? ultimately getting shafted once they are too old?
obviously many of these celebrity athletes are horrible people working the system for individual benefit, but idk, i feel these are people who need their chains cut too.
let me know if you disagree! not sure im completely sold on this position…
Fuck them there wages are stolen in the form of expensive tickets, food, alcohol and the propaganda that everyone’s little gremlin has a chance to grow up and be a rich professional athlete. It’s all a distraction and waste of time for the owner class. Note - I’m all for physical fitness but competitive sports is a drain on society.
I don’t think it’s fair to highlight that some pro athletes are horrible people as a mark against them being paid well as there are horrible people in every profession. Otherwise I agree with your first paragraph 100%. I will say that because they make enough to live extremely comfortably for the rest of their lives that it’s difficult to argue that they should get more of the cut, even if it’s revenue generated off of their work.
