I highly recommend FramePlayerX https://github.com/remotesojourner/frameplayerx
Open source and works with JellyFin/Emby, SMB, Local Files, pretty much everything. It’s the only video playing solution I need on the Frame and it works fabulously.

I received my Frame yesterday (much to my surprise as I never got the shipping notification). All in all I am delighted. I’ve had so much fun playing 2d games on a gargantuan screen (this old man’s eyes ain’t what they used to be) that I find it worth every penny.
I even tested what I thought to be my stretch goal with this device which was streaming directly from my SteamDeck to again, give me a big ass display and it works wonderfully.
I bought a Quest3 some time ago and have hardly used it because 1. I had to create a throwaway Meta account and do a bunch of network fuckery to even feel safe using the damned thing, and 2. There just wasn’t much to do with it other than watching movies (which was admittedly quite nice). But this is a whole different ballgame. I feel like an enormous chunk of my Steam backlog just opened up to those moments of laziness when I’m just vegetating on the couch.
I also love the idea of a hackable Linux computer I strap to my face, I foresee lots of fun tinkering in my future with this doodad.
Highly recommended by one random old fart on the internet.

I want to pay out of pocket and they won’t let me because Im not old enough!
I already had shingles in my mid 30s and it was an unbelievably excruciating experience. it felt like someone was piercing me with hot needles on the right side of my chest and it lasted for over a week.
But no vaccine because reasons…
I was too poor to buy a windows license for the pc I assembled from dumpster parts. I was also to much a rule follower to pirate windows so that led me to slackware linux and the rest is history.

So if she weighs the same as a duck… then she’s made of wood…
and therefore…
A WITCH!! BURN HER!!
Wow! That’s fantastic news. I tried playing on SteamDeck some time ago and it was a mess which was disappointing because it seems like a perfect deck game. I can’t wait to play this with my kids!
