I’ve really enjoyed it while traveling. It real nice being able to throw some PlayStation controllers in my bag and having an instant console wherever I go. Every hotel ever will have some kind of hdmi cord running into a tv that you can hijack and plug it in. Don’t have to Fuck around with the switch dock system.
Hell you can cast from the steam deck straight to a tv if you want. I won’t lie, it didn’t run that great, but I bet I could tweak it and get it to work better.
I don’t know why this small detail was my favorite but it is. Theoretically you can use the xreals and do that with most devices but only the steam deck can do it without any added steps.
The thing about the steam deck is it opens up pc gaming to places other than in front of your pc. And there’s been next to no opportunity to do that unless you consider cooking your genitals with a gaming laptop to be an enjoyable experience.
I’ve got a nice tv room that was getting wasted because if I wanted to game I had to sit in my office. I’ve been able to be way more mobile within my house. I can stop a game on the pc and pretty easily restart it on the deck. While that’s not a new thing I do think steam cloud saves are unrivaled in functionality and ease of use.
If you’re on the fence about the steam deck. Get it. I’d be the first to say it’s not worth it and trust me im a guy that knows how to waste money on stupid shit (case and point I bought xreal airs). But I’ve never regretted the steam deck.
It’s been the best handheld I’ve ever had hands down. The sheer volume of verified games and the versatility of the device are unrivaled. I’ve been able to put it in so many configurations and customize its use to what I need. I bought a wireless kb and mouse and a usb dongle to run everything into it and I’ve even gotten some xreal airs and can play with the projected screen and it works great. The best part? If I put them on and get in bed it allows you to play games while lying completely flat . That might not sound like it matters. But you cannot do that with any other device. You gotta turn your head or prop yourself up to play. It is peak laziness. And I live for it.
I just don’t think the steam deck is going to be able to handle this game. Baldurs Gate 3 is certified playable and they did a great job making it a seamless experience but it’s obvious that the system strains in anywhere but the most sparse locations.
The steam deck just isn’t meant to play all the AAA next gen ray traced games and nobody should expect it to do so. It already goes further than any handheld on the market, I don’t need it to play starfield. I need it to play cult of the lamb really well. And it does. And I love it.
If you press the left joystick I believe it puts it to pointer mode.
It actually works pretty good. You have to cut the settings down a bit and honestly playing on pc is easier but to the devs credit they totally got it playable and even modified the game so you use a scroll wheel system for selecting spells. I suspect that’s how the ps5 version will operate.
I opted to finish the game on pc but now that I’m done I don’t mind playing it casually on the deck.

Well, I’d say the value of the Tesla isn’t the car at all, it’s in being the first to popularize Evs, the brand they’ve built, and in the recharging network they’ve built.
As far as the cars go theres just too many reported problems. Take the above things away and you’re left with just an ok car. Why would you invest all that money in something that’s just ok, especially when you can go to the nearest competitor who not only has way more money and experience in the industry but can produce a cheaper more reliable product. Not to mention the fact that they have the dealerships across the country to handle their vehicles and perform maintenance.
Where tesla shined really was in how the brand became associated with success and quality, and in how large a recharging network they built. Nobody else has come close to achieving either. With musk acting like a dumbass they’ve lost the it factor. Should have been obvious with the cyber truck. Elon basically acted out that episode of the simpsons where homer bankrupts his brothers car company by designing a hilariously bad car. They do still have the charging network, and I think that value cannot be understated, but in 10 years ev charging will become ubiquitous and that won’t matter.
Tesla was at its peak when musk mostly shut the fuck up and pretended to be the ambitious billionaire genius focused on the betterment of humanity.
Now it’s clear that space Karen was little more than a guy who got extremely lucky in the early dot com days and amassed an insane fortune. Strip elon of his wealth and ask him to do it again and he would never be able to.
It’s sad too, I wanted to get a Tesla but now there’s just no way. Not when Space Karen can just auto install some update that requires I pay a subscription to use the ac. Fuck that shit, too unreliable.

He likes to pretend that he’s some Roman emperor god amongst mortals and we are all his playthings. If he were alive in Roman times who knows, he might have been a solid Nero but this is modern times. I suspect if we could see the tweets that historical figures would write we would have a hugely different perspective on them. Many people we hold in high regard were equal levels of dickhead. Unfortunately for him we got to see who he really is and you can’t rehab that image. All he had to do was shut the fuck up and play with his rockets. Instead he will only be remembered as a snowflake right wing troll. Nothing more.
I suppose it’s good that he wasn’t just outright assassinated. Not that this won’t occur if putin sees the need for it.
