Cheers. It was an odd one to figure out. At first I believed it was just the ports, then I believed it was just the switches. I couldn’t find anything wrong with the stems. Lubing didn’t change anything.

Furthermore, one naturally assumes it’s something wrong with the North end, with the stem feet and the contact. 99% of the time, there’s no need to even look at the South end.

Much harder than I had to with the Cherry switches. I’ve been experimenting with applying pressure outside of the PCB and cannot replicate the issue. It’s only when the switches are inserted.

However, after some experimentation last night, I did realize this is indeed an individual switch issue. The problem is that they work perfectly fine until they’re fully inserted into the PCB. Then they got choked. I’ve identified a couple of problematic switches and re-assembled them but the issue is still there.

I’ll try and remember to share some media later. I like your idea of installing without the top housing. I’ll try that later. Thanks for commenting.

  • Programmer chuds get bent out of shape that HTML is the single most influential programming language ever made. Think about it, Devs post code snippets to StackOverflow, rendered in HTML. An HTML-interpreter (aka a ‘Software Engineer’) copy pastes the snippet, transpiles it into a Python file, Java file etc. and later in the process you get a binary.

Basic Brogrammers rage against programming behemoth HTML out of bitterness that all they are is HTML’s compiler.
