⚠️ ➜ Uncertainty

  • Any links that are not included in the entire Megathread have either not been approved by the moderators or the community, or have been deleted at some point. In other words, use extra caution anytime you sail in uncharted waters.
  • That said, as times change, so do the currents. What is seen as a safe route to great treasures now may soon be a shell of its former self or even be riddled with the black plague. Always exercise caution and if you notice problems with any of the sites in our Megathread, please contact the moderators.

Im so confused as to why this is titled “Lemmy Edition” but all the hyperlinks lead back to the privated reddit sub. Maybe I’m missing something. I’ll just stick to the rentry link but I’d think it’s better off to just remove this to avoid confusion.

Myself I moved here only and don’t plan to keep /r/piracy alive. However some other mods are dedicated to being unpaid jannitors for spez, so

            that’s very sad, i’m sorry.

one may feel unsupported because others don’t have enough courage to leave Reddit, leaving you alone with this, which perhaphs is more difficult than moderating r/Piracy without mods.

Might even feel outrageous if they joined later only in case Lemmy is a success thanks to the people here, but i don’t know.

i find you people very brave and forward-looking, thank you all for your effort <3

Be sure to save our Megathread for future reference without relying on Reddit.

Bit of a mute point now, isn’t it? :)

Hey all, so about 10ish years ago I used to torrent a few things, nothing heavy like games or programs but just TV shows and what not. I got burned pretty bad, had my computer compromised and files encrypted. I was able to salvage most of my rig but a lot of pictures and files were lost to the ether. I want to get back into this but understandably I’m pretty concerned about it. Any tips on getting safely back into sailing the seas?

Could you ammend the reddit links to point to old.reddit? The new design is just bad to look at.

Hey. I’m a noob pretty much. I was wondering if there is a way to test out TomTom Live traffic services on my Tomtom Rider 50. I bought it used, there’s an account on it. I’m scared if I reset it, that the map will be gone. And that’s 50€. I didn’t find anything so far. Only thing I find is the apk for the mobile app, but nothing for the actual satnav

update: ripped.guide has returned to normalcy…

their domain seems to have been hijacked by a disgruntled former staff member who deliberately ruined the site. maybe you could add the site back? it was quite a useful resource.

What are folks using to search these days? Google has become a proprietary mess and searches yield results in cookie cutout websites who all have the same format.

The links under section 1 link to Reddit, may be an idea to host those elsewhere?

EDIT: I missed the link at the bottom, looks like it’s all on rentry.co

I am no expert, but I think it does deal with both? Definitely upload, but I think that if your ports aren’t forwarded correctly then you won’t get as many download connections?

Came here to post this. If seeding is important to you, and I hope it kinda is, then you need port forwarding. So Mullvad is out, or at least I switched away from it.

Is there a place, where I could find articles from media like WSJ, NYT, WP and other text content hidden behind paywalls?
