They were supposed to be when they started, but I think they closed up pretty fast once there was money to be made.
I hate it so much. Most people don’t know what open software is so it’s confusing for them and those of us that do know what it means just feel betrayed by such use of the word. Shitty that they went from being open to not being open and shittier still they kept this name.
ClosedAI just doesn’t sound as friendly
