My point is that the popular myth that Israeli Jews are somehow deeply tied to the Holocaust and other horrors of fascism and that’s why they fled to Palestine is just that, a myth. Israel tries to play up that supposed connection to get Western sympathy, but again nothing of the sort exists. The parent comment is building on this myth by implying that the people of Israel are doing to others what has been done to them when in reality that’s not true.

I mean, how many capital H Holocausts are there? The Madagascar Plan was IIRC a Nazi Germany plan to dump all Germany’s Jews in Madagascar.
