Hi fediverse.
I am searching for an ISO TKL barebones kit, and so far have come up short. I have found the following: nuphy gem80 (which is out of production and they confirm that a new batch is not in plans). Evo80, which seems to be a bit pricier and out of stock. Luminkey80, seems to not support nkey rollover, so I might be better off using my Model M keyboard.
Am I correct that no keyboard with modern comforts like proper layer dampening, hotswap, gasket mount exist in ISO and in TKL?
EDIT: I already own keychron and ducky, but I would like to have a keyboard where it ticks all the boxes. Like the ones I made as examples in the beginning (gem80, evo80, luminkey80)
Thank you in advance.
EDIT 2: I chose a Neo80 from monacokeys. Thank you for the dialogue, guys!
MonsGeek has some ISO keyboard kits! Their website is kinda confusing but you can easily find them on AliExpress
The 75%M1 is the only that checks by boxes besides the fact it’s not TKL 😕
I’ve just remembered that Pulsar also sells ISO TKL keebs, I think those might check all of your boxes. There is a Hall Effect one and a traditional mechanical one
I had a pulsar. It was a fine board with good acoustics, it wasn’t gasket mount though.
I will check them out again.
The current ones are gasket-mounted
I recently got myself a Keychron V3 Max with ISO TKL, which has hotswappable switches and a gasket mount.
EDIT: Keebfinder is nice to get a good overview.
I went through the list with all the suppliers in Europe, but again all the boards I would want are out of stock ☹️
Besides keychron and Akko I can’t find anything “higher end”.
but I would like to have a keyboard where it ticks all the boxes
What boxes? Because keychron has keyboards with layer dampening, hotswap, and gasket mounts. What else are you looking for?
I understand your question. I have a V3 (no gasket, ABS plastic) and a C3 Pro (cheap but gasket). Perhaps I am an addict, but I would like to try that “high end thing” that the ANSI market offers. Aluminium case. POM plate. Poron dampening. I hope it makes sense
The GMMK TKL has hotswap, not sure about the rest.
Tray mount :(
@Antaeus the Neo80 can be built with ISO layout and should tick all boxes except RGB.
Good thing I don’t care much about RGB. I hope it’s VIA. Compatible.
Thanks!
