No one could credibly accuse me of being a gamer, but Steve has grown on me as a journalist over the past few years. A copyright strike for 75 seconds of the president speaking in a three-hour documentary is so firmly in fair use territory that I want some of what the lawyers were smoking.
DMCA abuse is far too common. With this being clear abuse, and somewhat high profile, I wonder if there’s any chance of this bringing some real attention to it.
While they are absolute POS i’m glad they did this because this is the perfect example of “shooting yourself in the foot”, they drew more attention to this by acting this way instead of ignoring it and it’s getting SOOOO much more coverage.
And bonus, Bloomberg’s lawyers could get punished or even disbarred for filing knowingly fraudulent claims
FYI if you didn’t watch the documentary, it’s great. Well worth the watch (when it’s back).
Sadly, I only learned it existed from Louis Rossman commenting on its removal. Definitely on my list when it’s back.
A bunch of other YouTubers are reuploading it in protest.
So, you can watch it on one of the reuploads.
Just make sure you watch it again on Gamers Nexus when it comes back, help them jump re-start it on the algorithm so it gets the views it deserves.Thankfully the Streisand effect will take care of the publicity.
