The trading is being done based off real data that was anonymized. That was the point of the article, real patient data was being accessed, although without any identity. This is what they mean by synthetic data.

I’m confused about what the ‘AI’ is doing then? If its real data that has been ‘anonymized’, isnt that just removing names/DOB/address/phone number PII? I dont think AI is needed for that.
