I am searching dor some form of software that I can use to watch all the different media I have stored locally, similar to Jellyfin. However the Problem is, that I do not have a dedicated media server (yet), so I am searching for something that I can use like Jellyfin, but that just runs locally. Everything that I have found is aimed at media servers. Do you have any suggestions?

I’ve been using Kodi quite happily. You can even add Jellyfin as a media source if you set up an instance in the future.

I second Kodi. I’ve used it on my SHIELD for quite a while because I have no Server either. The setup is a bit fiddly, but once it’s up and running, it’s robust.

I would recommend adding the KODInerds repository early on, there’s a lot of good stuff in that.

Third Kodi fan here. Definitely the most bang for your buck.

(But if you just want tv and movies then Jellyfin is probably easier to setup.)
