3·2 months agoI use a mix of docker containers and pods (with quadlets). I actually prefer quadlets where I can use them, though.

12·2 months agoContainers are no crutch. I love containers and use them for everything. They’ve fully replaced VMs and bare metal for me, they’re just easier to use and manage. Honestly if that’s what’s stopping you from experiencing the best open source image software I’ve ever used, it’s your loss.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Journiv - Self Hosted Journal v0.1.0-beta.11 : Day One Import, Location and Weather, Tag Management and much more are here.English
1·2 months agoThanks for the details - I’m sure it’s intentional that Daylio makes it quite the circus to go through. I’m excited about Journiv in general, so I might switch over once mood tracking is all set. However, it’d still be great to be able to import Daylio as I have around 2,000 entries :)

1·2 months agoI won’t say it’s impossible, but as someone in the country, it’s doubtful. We are a country built and operated on corruption and greed. It will take millions of American citizens to rise up, and kick the oligarchs to the curb. I’m afraid my fellow citizens are far too comfortable at the moment to actually take action. Minneapolis has given me a bit of hope, but until it’s in every city for weeks at a time, I’m afraid nothing will change.

2·2 months agoThat’s basically what I said in the first place, that I don’t see the US coming back from this, at least not during my lifetime.

8·2 months agoOh, I’ve known that we were a shithole. But I had a tiny, miniscule amount of hope that we could pull out of it in my lifetime, at least when I was a teenager and young adult. Now, I have no hope. There’s no coming back from this, at least not as the USA. Maybe if we balkanize, but that’s unlikely to happen because of our oligarchs.

10·2 months agoI’ve been painfully aware my entire life, not to worry. It’s just that there is no repairing it now, not in my lifetime. There may have been a slim chance of getting closer with our allies before a third of the country voted the dumbass in chief into office, but not anymore.

47·2 months agoAs someone (unfortunately) in the US, I fully expect the reputation of the US to be ruined for the rest of my life. I’m lucky to be in a decently progressive (by US standards) state, but I really would rather be anywhere but here in the US. We are fucked.

5·2 months agoThe B50 was plug and play for me. Obviously not a super powerful card compared to the competitors, however for 16GB of vram in a tiny package (with only 70W of power usage) it’s unbeatable. I did play some games as well, and it was decent enough to get me by for three weeks while my 7900 was getting RMA’d.

World News@lemmy.world•Most people believe climate change primarily affects othersEnglish
1·3 months agoSure, however us PNW residents will get increasingly intense atmospheric rivers (as we’ve already seen several times this year). That’s how climate change manifests here, excessive rainfall followed by extra dry summers. A recipe for massive wildfires.

I’m so shocked.
