EndeavourOS is more like an opinionated Arch install
Fellow EOS user and this is a hilarious yet accurate description. Still have vanilla arch but EOS on my laptop now since I tend to mess with it often.

Still waiting for LinusXI Pro Max.
Thank you! I’ll be back if I run into some trouble. :D
This. There’s archinstall now, too. A bit buggy in my experience so I prefer the old fashioned way.
I’ve never tried the extension pack, but I do have the guest additions. How do you install it?
I see Empress is still subtle and classy as always.
Dude was forced to buy Twitter because he couldn’t stop his big mouth. Seems he hasn’t learned. Lmao.

True. That’s Reddit’s goal though, not the protestors’. I think they’d rather the protestors leave, tbh.
I did go back for r/place, but I haven’t touched reddit since. For me, the goal was/is to find a decent alternative so I won’t have to put up with reddit. I found it so that’s a win for me. Although I’m not gonna lie and say i may still visit for some info that I won’t be able to find someplace else (reddit has acquired tons of useful information over the years, unfortunately).
Yeah. Idk why some people think the goal was to kill reddit.
From what I’ve read (take this with a grain of salt), the person you’re talking about cracks games with a much older version of denuvo. They’re apparently a lot easier to crack than those being done by this psycho.
If I wanted FB content, I’d join FB. Same goes for Twitter, IG, Tiktok, etc. Do people really think Meta is out to kill Twitter? I think it’s more to use ActivityPub to get data from people who do not use (or rarely use) their services.
And no, they don’t need you to install their app. That’s just a bonus. Why do you think they haven’t included the EU yet?
Great post. Imho, a fundamental thing we should not ignore is letting people know what they’re in for. I’ve seen some users glossing over the intricacies of the fediverse to get others to sign up. I understand their side, but imo that’s not a good way to have people come over. People should be educated enough of the pros and cons as much as possible, although that might mean some would get intimidated and refuse to join.
Clear policies will be very helpful in addressing that, i think.
Edit: just have to add that i haven’t opened the links yet and only read the whole post. Not at home so I’ll check them out later.
But at the same time, anything I don’t customise is pulled from the shared binary cache instead of being built locally
This sounds pretty good. Like Gentoo and Arch mixed depending on what you’re installing? Gonna read up more on it when I have time. I just scanned their website quickly and they did sound a lot like Gentoo.
Just a normal potato. i3-3120M and upgraded to 12gb ram. Next will be the SSD as it still has an HDD. Works pretty well for everyday use, although forget about gaming.
On recent hardware compiling everything from source doesn’t give that much a of a performance boost.
Agreed. The only reason I considered Gentoo is because my laptop is a potato.
Haven’t tried Nix OS yet, but yeah I can see the similarities in Gentoo and Arch. I think Gentoo with its compilation times is more of a headache (with better(?) rewards?). I think the last time I had to compile on Arch was for a kernel I wanted to try.
Thank you. This is what I was thinking of. Lemmy/kbin is great but idk how mature they are in terms of accessibility. I wish them luck.
How is lemmy in terms of accessibility? I hope it goes well for them.
In puberty? Hannah Montana Linux.
Kim Jong Un is god? Red Star OS. There’s a Linux distro for everyone.
