  • there are a bunch of style sheet and javascript set up to work in tandem with each other that i find rather upsetting. you can go in and force things to load completely rather than on scroll but you then need to make sure that the page allows for that to happen. and they didn’t exactly name their json/javascript/css in any way to make things easy to find either, as they are all name dynamically on site load. i’d go with testing without hardware acceleration, and if that doesn’t work then you’ll have to find a way to disable very specific files from loading or neuter them so that they load the way you need them to.

  • a small question, if I may.

When I worked in technical support for a popular phone brand a lifetime ago, I had to make clickable “navigatable” pdfs. Create empty objects around apps and settings so that technicians could help clients without having access to their phone or device with current OS update. I would update mine and take screen shots then convert those with clickable objects to switch to the correct page to act as a sudo phone/tablet. Is this something that BentoPDF can do?

  • My server has movies ranging from 480p to 4k. Anything under 4k that is a movie shouldn’t be more than 2gb-3gb (this is also highly dependent on the movie in question, lotr movies can be huge so as long as it looks good I don’t mind, I have the space) when it comes to 4k movies it highly depends on the movie but I like to keep them below 10gb if I can.

When it comes to tv shows if it’s 1080p I expect long-form (1 hr) to be around 1-2gb. Less for shorter shows.

As far as bit rate and codecs are concerned keep things as simple as I can .h264 or .h265. My server doesn’t support AV1 so I can’t use that yet maybe in the future. .h265 high10 tends to make my server work too hard. I try to keep the bit rate on the low side as my server is a bit on the low end so a bit rate below 10mbps keeps the server happy and everything plays nice and snappy.
