I don’t read DMs.

It’s not that she didn’t like men in hats, she just preferred Men Without Hats.
We might as well just ban porn altogether.
That was the point, methinks.
I paid for a lifetime membership to Plex in 2012–$75. I stopped using it around 2015, mostly because I hated that I didn’t have access to software running on my server, meant to serve my media, without an internet connection. I knew that meant worse was coming in the future.
I don’t regret switching to Jellyfin.
“Evil attacks”, like we’re killing puppies, or something.
It’s vandalism against machines, and the only victim here is the insurance companies.
They’ve become sentient, and are committing suicide.
Only when the pain of bowing to Microsoft, and their increasing intrusions and demands, exceeds the (IMO) minor pains (multiple) of switching to Linux, do people make the jump. That threshold is low for some, and high for many.
I’m a Linux Mint exclusive guy for one year next month, and I’m never installing Windows again. No, it didn’t “just work”, but it did work 85% out of the box, and the rest I was able to figure out. I’m NOT “an IT guy”, and the only OS I used before Windows was MS-DOS (so, yeah, I’m old).
I play Fallout 4, and Half-Life 2, and run Gimp, Inkscape, Blender, LibreOffice, Calibre, Jellyfin, Forge AI, PrusaSlicer, Meshroom, SABnzbd, etc. etc. Everything works fine, now, and I’m perfectly happy without Microsoft all up in my shit.
Oh, and, BTW, Gimp 3.0 is the shit. I’ve used Gimp off and on over the years, as a Photoshop user for nearly 30 years. Gimp doesn’t do everything Photoshop does, but it now does everything I ever used Photoshop for as a graphic designer for 20 years.
Amazon doesn’t sell anything you can’t buy somewhere else for the same price. You have no excuse to keep using Amazon. Correction, I’m sure people who buy from Amazon have excuses, but they aren’t good ones.
Intelligence and knowledge are two different things. Or, rather, the difference between smart and stupid people is how they interpret the knowledge they acquire. Both can acquire knowledge, but stupid people come to wrong conclusions by misinterpreting the knowledge. Like LLMs, 40% of the time, apparently.
More directly comparable, is the Ring cameras inside the house.
I’ve been on Firefox since I left Internet Explorer many years ago. But, recently, I switched to LibreWolf, and I’ve been checking out Pale Moon. Pale Moon is close to doing everything I want, but not quite there.
We’ll need to surround every Tesla store with cops. It will be like crossing a picket line to buy one, and should be protested as such.
I held on to my iPhone 4S as long as I could. Now I have a 12 “mini”. I know I’m in the minority, though, because I don’t spend all day staring at my phone. I do like having all the features, but I use them only occasionally–say, once a week or less. I prefer my internet use on my gaming computer with a big monitor, and a full-size keyboard.
I expect I’ll end up with a huge phone for my next one, that I don’t need, just to keep access to the functionality. Like everything else in life, there’s always compromises to be made.
Which is why, in the U.S., the rich are turning back abortion rights and access to birth control, and gutting our public education. They could, instead, work to build a country where people felt safe, and supported–healthcare, jobs with decent wages, education, etc.–but the filthy rich are psychopaths who care only about themselves, and will do nothing that costs them money, power, and control. Instead, they’ll GLADLY watch the people (people they depend, incidentally, for what good is power and control, if there’s no one to wield it over?) suffer at great levels in attempts to achieve their goals.
It takes a lot of poor people to make one filthy rich person.
No, China is Communist, it says so right in their name.
/sarcasm
People can do this job, and better, and cheaper. Anyone who can afford something like this, and I think well into the future, can easily afford a house cleaning service. Also, people don’t record everything they see and everything you say and upload it to corporate servers to be stored forever.
I moved to LibreWolf a couple of months ago. I’ll move further away if I need to.
How about we disallow it completely, until it’s proven to be SAFER than a human driver. Because, why even allow it if it’s only as safe?
