It’s not even really 4chan though. 4chan has limited moderation and allows alt-right crazies to run wild. Twitter has strict moderation which is designed to cater specifically to alt-right crazies and suppresses beliefs that go against it.

You’re not wrong, lots of people on Lemmy.world just really kiss up to fairphone because of their perceived betterness in other ways. Just because they claim to be doing some things better doesn’t mean they aren’t doing anything wrong or scummy.
Also I bet there’s quite a few apple fanboys here who support copying apple in removing features, for some strange reason.
People will deny this but this is the only real reason for doing that. The other reason is copying apple, which isn’t really another reason as apple removed it for the first reason. Fairphone just went the extra mile to claim that headphones are wasteful, in essence they’re making an excuse to cover up their reason why and also trying to force others to do it as well.
Rescuing home partition from ZFS, actually that doesn’t really count since I did have to reinstall (was no longer booting), but recovering the Home partition from ZFS and to the other ext4 drive was much harder than it should’ve been and that’s why I would never recommend people use ZFS.

First Debian, then Ubuntu because people said it was better, then back to Debian because it wasn’t (snaps really suck and break things), then to Pop OS (bc new laptop preinstalled with it). I also got a SteamDeck semi-recently if that counts (still use the Pop OS laptop).
It’s true for some people but it’s not true for everybody. Some people really like to wear those long socks, and other people don’t.
Very much agree, I feel like everyone should at least give them a try, they’re very comfy.
One example I can think of is how cis people (usually cis males) who choose to crossdress are often misgendered, made fun of, and told they must not be cis because of how they dress.
Though I’m not really sure if this actually counts because these issues I described also affect trans people who are gender Non-Conforming, in very similar ways.
What’s more likely is that their comment is just a funny joke, where they swapped the roles of cis and trans in the passage and the joke part is that it sounds absurd and isn’t supposed to make sense.

Just got to hope that Canonical will host all of the software for it on their Snap repository (singular) I don’t think they’d object to it but that is a big issue with snap, you can’t add other repositories and the server code isn’t open source.
I think it’s meant for people who currently use ABP, uBlock, or one of the other countless bad ones as opposed to the far superior uBlock Origin, or Adnauseam.
What’s often left out is people are uninstalling terrible ad blockers and installing better ones. The terrible ones allow certain ads (from advertisers who pay to get through) or even inject their own ads.
Some disinformative articles are trying to use that to claim that because people are uninstalling [insert bad scammy adblocker name] that people are uninstalling adblockers altogether.
I’ve heard that it’s considered click fraud and that the advertisers sometimes Force the site to pay them back possibly a little bit extra as a fine.
Not too sure though. Personally I don’t really use it because the adblocking structure I have set up isn’t really compatible because it has multiple layers. I block the ads over the network through a network-wide firewall, I also block them through portmaster on my computer, and finally I have uBlock Origin in my browser. I also have adnauseam alongside of it and I turn off ublock origin for the sites that I want to autoclick ads on but almost none make it through the multilevel network filtering.

I see no reason why I would want to buy a folding phone. Plastic flexible screen that you can’t put a screen protector on, and that eventually breaks from opening and closing enough times. What could possibly go wrong?
