My fiance always tells me how much she hates me complaining about things and not doing anything to improve it, and i think that’s a fair point. She has had to continuously tend for herself, fighting health care, education system and society to get by. And that really made me understand that complaining without doing anything is both priveleged and stupid. I have more respect towards others than trying to force Linux down their throats, but just complaining and ignoring a solution, even if all the circumstances line up perfectly, is just dumb. Complaining is justified, not doing anything or pretending you can’t is not. That being said, the Linux community is obnoxious and, in many cases, has the worst case of superiority complex, although i do believe we have gotten way better at that and are way more welcoming now than before.
Think I saw them respond that they were aiming for last half of 2026 to 2027 for the new phones.

Id find a better source than me for this but from what ive been told a Kick streamer got repeatedly abused when failing challenges or games during his streams. The abusers also streamed and took suggestions from chat on how to abuse him. Kick also promoted their stream. The abused streamer was seen multiplex time panicking or having breakdowns over what the abusers were going to do. Allegedly one of the last things seen was the abusers smashing a glass bottle in his head.
I do not know how much of this is true or made up. Would be very thankful for sources and corrections. I just know Kick is a dogshit platform heavily promoting gamblers on the front page, so this wouldnt surprise me.

What do you even mean. You are contradicting yourself. “We shouldnt blame AI or the companies because they cant be controlled” but the companies and AI itself is supposed to handle the safety regulations? What type of regulations do you seriously expect them to restrict themselves with if they know there is no way they cant guarantee safety? The legislation must come outside of the business and restrict the industry from releasing half-baked ass-garbage that is potentially harmful to the public.

If you cant guarantee the safety of a product, limit or restrict its use cases or provide safety guidelines or regulations you should not sell the product. It is completely fair to blame the product and the ones who sell/manifacture it.

Very true, they do ofc exist there. Nobara just gives you a first-time install-wizard which lets you one-click condigure it. I was more thinking of a use-case as OPs where you wont need to tinker too much after the initial installation.

Curious take, Rust has about 137k users online (24h peak via steam charts rn atleast). Dev claims 0.01% of users play on Linux. That’s 13-14 players. If even a single person decides to cheat or run Linux to cheat the amount of “cheaters on Linux” would indeed “dramatically increase”. But that’s a really bad way to tell the narrative.
I don’t really care, i haven’t played rust in years and as others mentioned there’s way to much games i can play instead. Ive been playing a lot of The Finals recently and I’ve had a blast. They have Proton support and anti-cheat and atleast publicly say that they do want to continue supporting Linux.
If not supporting Linux is a business/economical decision just say so. This is a really bad way to discuss the situation and an attempt to frame linux players as cheaters. If you have 14 players total on Linux out of a total 100k then they most likely aren’t the problem.
