There are downsides. Not all women are beautiful, and quite a lot of us lose our beauty as we age. I can tell you first hand that aging has resulted in a significant change in how people treat me, and that alone is enough to cause social anxiety

Also, the expectation that we be beautiful or maintain our figures is oppressive as fuck. Think about how hard life is just trying to work and pay bills, then add the time and financial cost for beauty routines and gym. Some people get around that by making those two things their hobbies, but that isn’t gong to work for most people

I was raised Catholic, and I asked my mother once why we never saw women as deacons or priests. I was told that women should not be permitted to teach (scripture). There’s a few verses about that in the new testament, in Timothy specifically if I recall correctly.

Imagine how confusing that was for me considering most of the faculty at the Catholic school were nuns! Or that my mother herself was Catechism teacher for Confirmation.

They do not contradict each other. I’m certain there will be more stops as the city grows, because they keep improving it. I used to live in a city, in another state, with one of the best public transportation systems in the country, and they also kept improving that system to include the surrounding cities in other counties. Just because something isn’t perfect already does not mean we can’t take it seriously and strive for perfection

Man, I never used fast food, or drive throughs as much as I have since I developed a mobility disorder. Last week I put a pickup order in at my local coffee shop out of habit, and couldn’t carry both my coffee and the breakfast sandwich to my car at the same time. Which sounds so stupid, but it took so much extra energy for both trips into the store that I was ready to go home and call it a day after that lol
