They are about 5% friendly which is about the size of the market share. But seriously, I don’t recal them being unfriendly. They ride the Valve Linux hype train quite hard.

Oh it’s you. The reason mainstream adoption among normal users isn’t here yet. Glad to meet you Satan. 🤝

Can’t really remember the last time it wasn’t a horrible time to build a PC.

Was it really easier to post this question instead of reading the article?
This is basically my take on it. Windows has conditioned me to ignore any and all warnings. It would be super easy for me fall into a trap like that on Linux.
This is basically a hit piece that has been in many ways disproven. Linus and his team are a bunch of apes but that means they are mostly incompetent, not actually malicious.

What constitutes good? And what makes an iPad good? I had an iPad pro about 4 years ago and I hated it and its’ idiotic appleisms. People were paroting that iPad is the way to go back then as well and I fell for it. I switched to a Samsung Tab S7+ and couldn’t be happier. I still use it daily, it does everything I need it to do and it does it better than the iPad.

I still remember the time of the great Miele shilling by the vacuum repair guy. Every thread about vacuums had the same conversation about how only this single company is the best company of all. It worked, my brother bought one of those vacuums.

So immch is dead before it even matured enough to be reliable? Sad.

It was all for show to appease protestors.

There’s no way this can be categorized as world news.

I wish corpos disappeared in flames tomorrow, but unless I get a magic lamp that won’t happen. In the mean times there are levels of activism everyone can do including in their personal lives. Deflecting and ignoring won’t achieve anything, so we have to take responsibility for our actions as well.

I say why not, imagine 1 billion people eating 0 meat or 8 billion people reducing their intake. Net result is probably the same, but the problem is that there are some people that will use this reduction excuse to not actually do much about their diet. Then there are the people like you mentioned that eat meat 3 times a day and then there are the people that surround their own identity around meat eating.
I’m not a dogmatic and tell people irl that each individual should do as much as they can, but even with that low bar most people don’t do shit.

Overseerr doesn’t seem to be developed much anymore. Technically, these are for request management and for general search you would use prowlarr. In reality, if you don’t want to play administrator for other users using Sonarr or radarr directly is easier and more reliable. You can tell that the whole stack was created by random disjointed developers and not a main UX designer because everything about it is very obtuse.

Again this is my opinion, everyone who cares about it already knows beyond a shadow of a doubt what this is, everyone else will continue to attempt confusion and deny it until theres no living resident in Gaza. I disagree that this particular action would change anything in terms of anyone’s perception on the lies.

As I said in another comment there is politics at EU level and my argument is not against making waves, it’s about taking the conservation to where it hurts more for the politicians that don’t act. Making waves is very much a viable option since it’s been a recent staple of some politicians.

I guess the root issue with this is that they don’t act and if they lose their office to someone else those people also don’t act, at least not in the interest of the people. So we would need someone who actually acts instead of just talks and promises and I feel like Greta would be one of those people.

There are parties and ministers and multiple institutions at european union level that drive conversations and can put a lot more pressure on the rest of the world than any single private individual.

I already did in broad terms. I would target politics, start a party or movement, grab power, votes and influence, take the helm and actually enact policy and put pressure where it hurts. Even this flotilla would make a lot more sense if it would be a marketing stunt to gain something else, but it really does seem to be limited to exposure which is not enough, everyone already knows the tragedy that is happening and yet those who can actually decide have said time and time again we can all get fucked.
First, it isn’t a roomba, second it says in the article how much it cost, third some people have hobbies and sometimes those hobbies are tinkering, dismantling and hacking things they supposedly own and that sometimes leads to revelations like this. Hope that helps.
