  • That seems to me to be about hostages, rather than the genocide.

One in five still think killing palestinians is more important than saving the lives of hostages, but that doesn’t mean all of the other four in five oppose having killed all those palestinians.

People are upset about netanyahu prolonging the war and killing hostages for the sake of his career, but that’s not the same thing as opposing genocide.

  • J&J really pride themselves on being a family friendly company, which makes it extra damaging that they knowingly gave mothers and babies cancer for 50+ years.

As far back as the 50s their scientists showed that asbestos was present in their talc. Back when the story broken I read that some of their internal research even associated talc itself with cancer. In the 70s they lied to regulators, saying they hadn’t found any asbestos recently, they had of course. Even after most other companies stopped using actual talc in baby powder, J&J refused to change and insisted it was safe.

  • if you want to call it some specific name

Yeah, that’s what I thought - they can regulate what you’re allowed to call it based on how you make it.

But they can’t ban all veal rotisserie, or outlaw cutting meat thicker than 5mm. Right?

The sparkling wine industry wasn’t crippled by not being called champagne and I don’t see how the german kebab industry would be crippled by not being called doner unless it was prepared in the doner style.
