The indicator LED is one of those small features that I actually really miss!

I’m currently using a pixel 6 pro. I took a long break from Androids. The last one that I owned was a S9 Plus.
I love the screen with the high refresh rate and it’s really responsive. I also love the live translate feature and all of the neat AI tricks that it has as well. I also was very hesitant because I’ve heard a lot about the battery life being bad, but the battery on mine is really good, as well as the fingerprint reader.
The only thing that I dislike would be the grip of the phone. I played around with both the pixel 6 and the pro and I would have to say the regular pixel 6 has a better grip, but I love the higher refresh rate and display on the 6 pro.
Edit: Oh and of course, the camera is amazing!
Yeah for jobs like that it seems odd for the engineers to not want to see the prototypes.
Seems like people like that are in the wrong profession for sure.
This right here! My commute is rather long. I spend about 2 hrs total of my day commuting to and from work. I could save so much time and money on gas if I was full time remote.
Yet they still want us in the office…
I work remote twice a week, which is nice, but I seriously wonder why I even have to go to the office the other three days.
Most of who I communicate with to do my job is not even in my location, so I’m regularly using Microsoft teams and WebEx. Also all the programs are accessible on my work laptop from home.
I agree as well, I think a vote next time with the members of the community would be better before making a change.
It seemed like the community over on lemmy.world had more posts and subscribers as well. As someone else mentioned, at a time like this when users are moving from Reddit to Lemmy, now users are being asked to move again to another community. I understand its not hard to click subscribe on the new community, but at the same time all of the posts and comments will no longer be displayed here.
So is it worth it solely for GrapheneOS, or is the phone just simply better overall than the OnePlus 9?
I use to put custom roms on my phone a long time ago when I had a HTC and LG phone but that was a couple a years ago, so I’ll have to get myself back up to speed again.
Thanks for the information! I ended up going with a t480 and installed Pop! OS on it. I"m enjoying it so far!
Thanks for the information! I tried installing Linux on my Mac but I was getting partition errors (bought my 2015 Mac used) and after troubleshooting for a couple hours I decided to just go out and buy the t480. I got Pop! OS running on it smoothly and I"m enjoying it so far!
I ended up going with the t480 and I recently installed Pop! OS on it!

Wow! Thank you for the detailed information. I had some issues trying to install Linux on my Mac so I ended up buying a t480 and I installed Pop! OS on it. Everything at the moment is running smoothly and I’m currently still setting up programs on it that I believe I will be using in my cyber security journey. Thanks again for the detailed explanation, I have a lot to learn!
Thanks again for the advice! Going to install mint on my Mac and go from there!
Thanks for the detailed response! I think I’ll take the advice that some others and that you’ve mentioned also. I have an extra USB drive laying around so I’m going to try and install Linux and run it through a VM on my Mac first. If all runs well, then great! If not, I’ll look into the Thinkpad.
I actually am unsure of what numbers 2,4, and 5 mean in your response. I’m coming from a non-tech field, but have a huge interest and am trying to build up my knowledge on all of the technical terms especially when it comes to Linux.
Thanks again!
Thanks! Think I’ll try installing Linux on a VM first and see how it runs on my Mac. If performance is slow ill look into the Thinkpad.
Thanks, I’ll have to look into installing Kali in a vm. I’ve seen distros such as Linux Mint being discussed. Would that be a good daily driver to use?
I have Linux on my laptop but I have a Windows gaming PC and I’m honestly trying to figure out how could you not get steam to start? Never had an issue with that before…
