I’ve got one progam that I need for work that I cannot get to run on Linux. I’ve tried WINE on both Ubuntu and Zorin (and winlator for android). I have the installer exe file and try to launch with WINE but then nothing happens. Is that a program problem, WINE limitation, or something else? Is there a different program I should try to launch it?
I’d be more interested in allowing more than one Android device at a time like MySudo. They let you link Windows with a phone so I wouldn’t think it would be too hard to implement.
I hate the settings app so much that I’ve just learned the powershell commands for setting up printers and changing NIC settings. Honestly it wouldn’t be as bad if a. It didn’t take forever to load on occasion and b. I could have two settings windows open at once.
It’s so hard to find settings there that jumping between network center and add device is not intuitive. If they remove control panel from servers too I might quite my msp job and go work at a grocery store.
Seems like it’s a backend change and they’re removing per creation entirely. Got an email from one of the creators I follow about getting suggestions on how to restructure their tiers for the new system. My guess is it would be tricky to setup a way to have creators do android/web tiers and apple tiers, not to mention confusing. And of course they can’t just pull a Spotify and have a pop-up that says ‘sorry you must use the web to subscribe’ on iPhones.
I do basically that, but with aSamsung tablet, then my phone can be for phone things, calls, messages, emails. Then if I’m out and about and need to check my bank, mobile hotspot to my phone and go from there.
I’m not sure if it would work with how they do user updates, but I’m waiting for someone to make a version of Waze that runs on openstreetmaps. I.E. temporary updates like ‘car stopped here’ ‘cop parked there’ ‘lane closed ahead’
It seems like the functionality is already there for it, but they’d have to distinguish them from the long term updates like ’ this is a business at this address with these hours’ that presumably won’t change by the next day.
I would prefer a privacy conscious alternative to Google Wallet first, then add the crypto stuff, but that’s just me
So this is the ‘mechanical hound’ that RayBradbury was referring to in Farenheit 451.
I used to really enjoy his Linux Sucks speeches, but man, not sure if younger me wasn’t paying attention or if man went real off the deep end around 2019.
Since we’re all throwing out DNS options, I’ll toss in NextDNS
I hate the ones that are just “open a case” and then they close the thread without saying what the fix ended up being, looking at you Veeam forums.
Spotube uses m4a as a format and doesn’t always get it right as it basically just searches the song on YouTube
EFF sent out a campaign to their mailing list this morning about how banning it is a bad move for free speech and a better option would be to create actual data privacy laws that companies have to follow to do business in the US, but of course that would just put more money in politicians pockets to ensure it never sees the light of day.
(New) disabled all my inbox rules and since you can’t create new rules in the OWA irom what I could see, there was basically no management. Glad I moved my personal stuff to Proton before they kill the standard Outlook app entirely
I used it for songs that weren’t on Tidal when I transferred playlists from Spotify. I found quite afew that I liked that Tidal didn’t have. Now that that’s gone I’ve moved to Deezer and am filling out my Plex server separately.
