No idea what French parents/children are like but across the pond I’ve had many a good time ruined by children acting way out of line and parents doing nothing at all. I wish there were more explicitly child free attractions here for that reason

A bad thing for the 1% on both sides and a the best long-term outcome for the 99%. “Global trade” exists to keep a few thousand people around the world happy and rich and you worse off for it.

Don’t forget that Brazil is one of the few countries that the US has a positive trade imbalance with. The stated goal of the tariffs was always balancing trade, this is explicitly political strong-arming.

Had a conversation about this the other day with a coworker, albeit about ICE cars but still applicable I think. Car manufacturers made tremendous progress in effeciency and negated all of that by justifying making their cars 2x bigger than they were 20 years ago. It’s ridiculous. A modern Subaru Outback is about the same size as a mid-90s Suburban. Gets about the same mileage as my 2001 Outback, even with all the effeciency tech

As I said, I’ve yet to find a selfhosting solution half as good as PlexAmp. It’s very, very good and arguably a better service than normal Plex

For me it’s PlexAmp and the few tech-illiterate friends I have who use my server for video streaming. 99% of the time, I just watch movies on my desktop with VLC player but I’ve yet to find a self-hosting music player half as good as PlexAmp
