Jesus, just bought an apple tv as a pass through for my living room tv precisely to stop those f*** ads…
Ha! It’s the one issue that’s been giving me the biggest headache through multiple distros. To be fair I believe most of my problems originate from Nvidia hardware and software.

I swear to god this global whack-a-mole trying to smack nazis.

They have the largest share and can direct the market/development, no question, but they not a monopoly. I think GOG has a good shot to complete as time carries on. At least while Gabe is still alive, they’ve been relatively ethical.
If the choice of largest developer platform is between Steam and companies like Epic, EA, or Microsoft, Steam still looks like a better alternative.

Ah. I think his brilliant plan is to replace Spain with Argentina.

That is correct in my case, startedwith linux earlier this year. Will be switching to AMD for the next upgrade.

Slightly off topic from crt nostalgia:
I do miss the older ‘dumb’ flat screens. Feels like all devices, but specially tvs, are spying on us by default. It’s an exhausting privacy arms race with my home network against ads or tracking.

Nice one, mate!

Why do I get the feeling this was one of many non public corrupt decisions this man made? Apologies if this is not the case, but our shitty leader in US will have an iceberg of maleficence on his coat tails.

On my MacBook Ghostty is fucking awesome!! Testing several for the macOs these past weeks and so far it’s still at the top.
As long as the scalpers don’t take em all… still pissed they ran out of their final sale of $5 steam controllers. All the time hoping that Steam would come out with a next generation.

Noice. Hadn’t heard of Asahi. Gonna try it out on my old Mac!

Absolutely, a friendly Linux user got me to install Mint!

Same. A friendly poster recommended Mint and I’m loving it! The fact that it automatically walks you through the dual boot set up was exactly what I wanted.

Noice. Still to chicken too go full into the deep end of the pool. lemmy posts have been slowing talking me into it more and more!

I can neither confirm nor deny…
Either this mf has the delusional cojones of a Bond villain right before he dies in an explosion
Or, they know this will fail and are ramping the rhetoric to ensure this will distract as much as possible from whatever they need.
