How about NixOS where the OS automatically installs the correct software and chooses the right settings. Then you have the time fiddle on your config for hours 🌈

I look at a c project. Everywhere custom macros to do the most basic shit. I want to parse an xml in c? Better use a sax Parser and put all the data into globals. Cryptography? Better implement that ourselves… Using a library would be too much of a hassle.

Same here. Always wanted to do cool games. But wanted to have an even cooler scripting language for the game. At some point programming languages became more interesting. Now working in ide development :D never finished a game
