I’m in the same boat, in the early days of Android (Galaxy S 1 days) I used to go to their site just as frequently as Tom’s Hardware, TechPowerUp, etc. because they were on top of most new customizable ROMs if I remember right.
I haven’t had a reason to go back since it has become increasingly more difficult to get a custom ROM on any Galaxy phone, and I almost completely forgot about the site until this announcement.
Oh yeah I love his tech tips!
Not with that attitude.
Even though everyone else isn’t with you, I hear you. I too like my coffee black just like my metal, and think Frankenstein girls seem strangely sexy.

This is so apt, I’m not a Linux user but I’ve seen so many on Lemmy this fits. One day I may join y’all… One day.
That’s what I’ve been using for around 6 months, works great.
So many fond memories of running the XP beta more than a year past the official release lol
*Forgot to add finding alternative ways to update the beta version to the release version patches was fun, too
Hey! I lived through bulldozer! I rocked an 8350 until the Ryzen 7 1700! I’m hardcore!
AMD* for life!

All these posts about Linux have me curious, especially because I just updated my hardware and have enough parts leftover to make a new PC. My main PC still has to run Windows because I use Ableton for music, but you guys are making me want to make the 2nd PC Linux just for shits and giggles. Especially if it plays well with Nvidia, my old card is a 2070.
My mom’s elementary school she taught at had bathrooms in the classrooms, and they were enclosed spaces. As I got older it became harder to use because it was built for kindergartners lol
I’ve been using Ableton for 3 years and nobody has mentioned it yet. I got the 90 trial of the Suite edition and haven’t looked back.
I tried it when it hit Game Pass years ago and had the same experience. Although people tout the expansions as game changing I found it incredibly dull.
There was a “glorious” 4-5 year span when all new electronics were coming in see through plastic casings.
You can see it most prominently today in the original Zoolander when he had one of the old Apple Macintosh machines trying to get the files out of it.
It’s mainly to do with lighting and, while they are going and adding the tech to old games like Quake, Minecraft, and Doom, it is mostly a “future” tech that will hopefully take over other types of lighting in games the more accessible it is.
This is simplified but it adds more realistic lighting by actually having the different “rays” of light actually bounce off of and reflect surfaces much more accurately, more more computer intensively, than other lighting methods. There are a lot of RTX on/off videos out there, if you have a decent monitor you can tell the difference.
Right now Nvidia has better raytracing performance because they have dedicated cores for it, whereas AMD has raytracing but they’ve been playing catch-up to Nvidia.
