For me it’s more about keeping multiple systems in sync and working as intended. E.g. I have my laptop, a home server with couple different distros and a few cloud VMs. Whenever I change a keybind in neovim or tmux or whatever, I just save the changes in a slightly different way and now every machine has those changes so I don’t need to update each machine manually.

5·9 months agoThere’s also RapidRAW, a much newer FOSS project with a much more focussed goal of actually being a simple lightweight Lightroom replacement. There are a lot of basic features still missing but it’s worth following.

1·9 months agoNot sure about amazon but if you search for deezloader/deemix you’ll find ways to self-host services that download flacs from deezer. Also, there are services on most chat apps that will do it for you too if you search for the same terms.

6·9 months agoYeah lol last time I needed a new GPU because mine died, it was pretty much the peak of Ethereum mining. I was doing lots of freelance motion graphics work at the time and needed something beefy but all these guys were buying every high spec card that came out, in bulk, to mine ETH.
Really hoping my 3090 doesn’t suddenly burst into flames in the next few months… fingers crossed.

3·10 months agoNever heard of flaresolver, thanks for the tip!
I don’t think I have Limetorrents enabled so will add that too. Is that the priority order you have them in then? Leet, lime, eztv and then tpb?

3·11 months agoDamn straight and I wanted all this plastic in my brain and balls anyway!
I used yunohost for a bit and while it was easy setup, it wasn’t easy to troubleshoot weird errors because hardly anyone uses it.
I’d recommend setting up:
- debian with a desktop environment to start with
- figure out how to ssh into it from your main machine and maybe how to use tmux
- docker and how docker works
- self-hosting services using docker

Thanks for my word of the day!
It’s really weird reading your comment because it reads as if I wrote it.
- I do pro audio work in Logic & Ableton
- Was syncing projects between my desktop, laptop and homelab for a few years
- No longer need to with my M3 Max macbook
- Am a nerd power user and sync my dotfiles between my machines (i’d recommend chez-moi instead of syncthing for that because there’s less risk of messing up a machine and conflicts)
What kind of audio stuff do you do?

Yeah we’re all planning to fall asleep on the couch watching Netflix. Just like they did in the before times when they still sold this stuff in stores!
