That’s… Terrible. Truly the stuff of nightmares!

True, but lord Gabe is aging, and I’m not sure what will happen once he’s gone. If Steam falls to greed, screwing up it’s user base and developer base as so many others before it, then I imagine a wave of pirates of significant proportions will emerge.

It’s meant quite literally. Sea charts are expensive, yo.
Been looking for some myself, my old nav has some ~20 year old charts, but I’m greedy, and I haven’t sunk yet.

Beautiful, a marvel of technology!
Yup, virtual machines usually have a really bad drop in performance. “Usually”, because you can reserve a spare graphics card and resources only for use with this one specific machine. But in that case, you might just buy another computer or dual boot (thats what I did while getting used to Linux) instead.

Of course!

I’ve played Factorio with the Steam controller some 3 years ago. It worked just fine, so I imagine the steam deck will too.
The controller support is likely targeted more towards playstation/Xbox controllers, or perhaps for a smoother experience if you dislike touch-as-mouse.
Those “hostile takeovers” and stigmatization of communities appear to happen rather often.
Like “hacker”, where the original hackers have dispersed and sought refuge as “makers” or “DIYs”, after being labelled “dangerous and malicious”.
Or “feminists”, which has become more and more synonymous for “feminazi”.
Or the whole lgbtq+ stuff, which I feel is self-inflicted, but that is likely because I’ve met one of the black sheep that every community has and which allow this exact phenomenon to happen.
But that it happens a lot, does not make it any less annoying.
Damn, got us good!
