One click hosters are pretty popular in Germany, so you will find lots of German stuff hosted one one of these. The most popular ones right now are rapidgator and ddownload. You will need special websites and forums for finding the links, though.

The 3-2-1 backup strategy: “Three copies are made of the data to be protected, the copies are stored on two different types of storage media and one copy of the data is sent off site.”
Netflix, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube, Google…
The enshittification is going full steam ahead.
That’s the exact point. It’s not only that you can’t google shit, even within Discord itself it’s incredibly hard to find the relevant information. BTW, did I already say that I fucking hate Discord?
I fucking hate Discord. It’s a walled garden. You need an account to see the content and you can’t google shit. It might be great for real time communication, but I can’t grasp how its usage has evolved beyond any of that.
The general direction that streaming services have been taking in recent times is clear, though: Raising prices, locking down account sharing, splitting up the content across too many different providers and introducing advertisement in cheaper plans. Sounds pretty cable-y to me.
I forgot about this feature and how Discord started out. While it might be great as a platform for discussing while streaming, I still don’t get how it’s being used for so much more by now.
Maybe it’s kids who have never experienced forums?
That’s a good point, maybe.
I don’t know man. I still don’t understand how Discord became so popular in the first place and I will never ever understand how some people are fine with Discord being their only online presence or way of interaction (I’m looking at you, midjourney!) It’s a walled garden with a fucking horrible UI and UX. Just look at the screenshot in the article:
What a steaming pile of dog poop, lol
You can also hold CTRL while clicking to open a link in a new tab, which is my way to go.
Did you read the article?
The size is not a problem. I’d just like to know the reason for it.
The big size is not really a problem. I’m just wondering why it’s like that.
Thanks anyway :)
I usually download them from the Dell website for my work in IT support. It doesn’t really play a role for which model. Here’s an example:
I’m also an old.reddit / RiF veteran and I love the mobile browser version. Already feels like home!
Wow, they’re really putting some effort into alienating their user base. What a shame.
Yes. I just didn’t feel too comfortable posting these links here ;)
