Well, it doesn’t take much to add a GPS computer to the handlebar and heart rate monitor. If you are feeling spendy it could also mean 2 pressure monitors, real time suspension damping valves, power meter, wireless shifting and dropper post.
I think it’s kinda genius. High end is all about image. Their sport cars show racing heritage. With EVs they have the opportunity to branch out into something different, and not necessarily have to follow any guidelines. Same happened with their SUVs.
The most important thing is that it has to be recognizable. It won’t work if the Uber rich can’t tell a Ferrari EV from a Peugeot. And that I think is something they must work on, because it looks too generic.

As one of those adopters 15 years ago, it was a no-brainer. I could either message my wife “free” or send SMSs at 20c each.
Why limit it to a specific OS? Open it up and inline a resistor, say 680 ohm or so.
Or wire a simple on-off switch. Or both ;)
Most silly excuse was my boss refusing to install Linux because he just had a friend give him original windows 98se licenses for the PCs we just bought for the company.
Well it gets less silly thinking that getting the eprom programmer software and orcad 4 working on Linux was probably impossible.
Then it was outright the best decision ever, because those machines never required a reinstall and worked flawless for the 5 years I was there working. Never understood the bad rep W98Se had. Never used it on my personal rigs of course.
My kid (13) surprised me the other day and said he wanted to try Linux. He has seen me forever using it and got scared about W10 getting hacked or something so thought of trying it out.
I handed over to him my Fedora 43 (KDE plasma) install USB drive and once installed the problems began.
The monitor couldn’t be set to native resolution, and Steam didn’t want to run. Turns out that there is no wayland compatibility with the Radeon Polaris RX480. What a bummer, that card is perfectly fine for what he does on his PC.
We tried with the cinnamon version and that is working fine. He even has roblox running.
Tl;Dr: Wayland isn’t compatible with older hardware that most casual windows users are mostly going to be using.
Try downclocking the ddr5 memory. If running at 6000 test it at 5600.

Not sure in Linux, could be a driver or kernel configuration. I don’t know a way to double check it. When booting into windows it’s at x16. So not a hardware or bios issue.
Hardware info (hwinfo) or similar. Be able to check all voltages, speed and temps while testing new hardware. For example my ARC A770 has little to no info, and shows running at pcie x1.

So this is what marketing can spit out in their best possible light. That means it can only go downhill from here. Not very promising.
Well, it was addressing the pay issue, and it is the most secure path to higher paid position fast. Moving on to new stuff comes naturally and the industry will push you to their next hotness, so not really a problem.
If your goal is to make yourself more valuable to employers/clients the best path is to specialize in some critical and niche enterprise tech. People that are good at stuff businesses were lured into using get paid very well. In my case it was SharePoint, but that’s just an example.
Knowing your way around the OS is taken for granted in these positions, so you have one piece of the puzzle, which is great, but you need the other pieces.
But be careful, if I have to choose between two experts, one with basic win+linux and the other only linux, I’m choosing the former.
I’m in a mixed case, I do use bone conducting headphones that are wireless when on my bike, because ear headphones are a 100€ fine I would like to avoid. Well, also use a Cardo on my motorbike…
But on the treadmill or at home I use some good quality wired earbuds, with thick ribbon cable that doesn’t tangle up. It is just confortable for me and one less thing to charge and throw away after the batt says goodbye.

Technicalities aside, TS is being pushed by MSFT in their SaaS custom components, and that right there will keep it relevant a while. MSFT is known for changing names a lot, but not for killing technologies.
After over 5 years of writing TS, I have had to do plain JS sometimes, and it is scary. It feels like walking blindfold. I’m spoiled.
Derailleur hangers come to mind, some brands use a different version in the same model lineup and model year. It’s on purpose to confuse an make it difficult for the average rider to DIY.
Also Cannondale, famous for using non-standard parts (and tools) for no apparent reason.
