No more than you can say that about any organization/business that has ever received a grant or government contracts. This is a common misconception. They are not in the budget for US.
By Musk’s definition SpaceX is “funded by the state.” And far more than NPR is.

I can’t speak for everyone else, but the only recommendations I want to see are ones directly relevant to the video I have pulled up in front of me. I can get why that is not exactly what everyone wants though.

Firefox is my go-to now. I just use Brave if i need a chromium browser. Privacy badger + adguard + little snitch mini + proton VPN as needed. Life’s been good lol

A thread on HN really poopoo’d proton mail (but not the VPN which I love) and recommended Fastmail over it. I can’t recall why so I’ll try to dig it up, but just throwing that out there since it might be good to check in on any major cons with it. It wasn’t scandals or “they aren’t private” or something but it felt significant when I read it.
Gmail works fine for me. No need to search for alternatives.

There’s nothing to evaluate. Megathreads were designed to kill topics on Reddit (unless it was a MAJOR, developing, current event) and they do the same here. You’re the first person to comment at all in this thread in over a month.
