Yeah at this point they’re basically the same thing. The important difference you have to know is that Emudeck will install emulators independently, and show them as their own games in your Steam library, whereas Retrodeck will install ES-de and only show one executable in your Steam library, from which you will launch your emulated games. It’s a matter of preference.

Disco Elysium is one of my favourite games I’ve ever played, I alternated between Steam Deck before going to bed and PC once I was hooked ; what an incredible story and depth of lore

One user pointed out to me that they may geoblock you, so a VPN would be recommended.

Yeah the backtracking in Wario Land 3 sometimes feels too punishing, like being caught by a random water bubble and going back up to the very top of the lake, or being bumped by one of those zombies and being mega slow until you walk back to some lightpost, I do think in general this is a clever way to not have a game over state, but some areas aren’t well designed for that

How does it run ?

My current phone (late 2022) cost me 700€, I will never spend that much again. It was supposed to replace my main camera for photography while hiking (weight being a huge factor), and it has. I’m hoping it will last as long as possible (10 years would be great), but after that, I’ll probably just get a 100€ brick out of privacy concerns

They may ask for an account but there’s no email check, just type whatever and you can watch it

That’s super interesting, I do remember being taught as a kid how to use Google Image search (circa 2005), Gimp for photo manipulation around the age of 12 in 2008, we had technology classes with electronics, technical drawing, even some plastic bending machine, and light programming (made a robot figurine execute recorded moves in sequence)

I do wonder if it’s still the case in my own country

Computer literacy is weird because it feels like millennials were born into it and had to learn how to use the tools available… Then said tools were made a lot simpler with a lot less control over them, and Gen Z was born into apps and saas and did not have the chance to properly learn

We generally only taught a single generation to master our tech, I think it’s scary, but also I trust the Zoomers to figure it out, they’re creative
