How come? I’ve been out of the open source loop recently

This is just my theory, but with the price of game development increasing so rapidly, I think it’s getting harder for the impatient to cover the development costs and make a profit off shitty games, unless the game has a huge following. Games like COD, Diablo, Star Wars, etc.
For games without that following, I think they are definitely being punished for their bad practices. Like Gotham Knights, Red Fall, Saints Row, etc. Games that cost so much that they have potential to shut down studios

Simple ≠ intuitive
For better or for worse, the widespread methods are not at all similar to the methods sometimes used in Linux. It’s just a fact that most people are accustomed to different ways

The same MFs on here that rush to tell someone that Linux is easy and intuitive are the same ones that can’t keep a small talk conversation for more than 5 mins, a social activity that humans have been doing for thousands of years.
My words might be a little broad, harsh, and even hurtful, but just a reminder that not all of us are good at learning the same things.
We didn’t all come out of the womb knowing how to socialize or use Linux, but if we look back far enough, we can all relate to the struggles it takes to learn something new, and how much it sucks when someone treats you like you’re stupid just because things sometimes don’t click

Unrelated, but LowSpecGamer on YouTube has some great videos about the Gameboy’s story and they are great. I recommend them to everyone
I’ve heard the controls on the steam deck aren’t that good. do you agree?
Same! I’ve fallen asleep a couple times for what I imagine is like 5 minutes and when I wake up I’m still alive lol

Yeah I prefer to play more demanding games on my PC and up the graphics

I agree to an extent. However, they’ve also been known for releasing buggy ass games before it was popular to do so lol. They’ve also been known for not fixing those problems and just moving on to the next product. Even if the next product is the same game just being resold
That is also a big part of their history

At least for me, things like these are so impressive because of how far iGPUs have come in recent years
It’s amazing to me how you no longer need a full scale GPU for modern gaming. Making gaming cheaper, power efficient, and accessible for more people than ever. I’m excited for where the future of gaming is headed.
Btw I don’t give all the credit to Valve because it is something that companies like intel, amd, GPD, minisforum and others have been doing for years. The Steam Deck has just been the most popular one so far

Not only that, but it slows down discussion and more niche/focused topics are often missed

Same, I saw it as a gamble. I set my preorder, and saved up for the following months until the device released.
I had been looking into this space for years wishing it would get better and cheaper. It’s the only thing that I have been willing to preorder and be a “beta” tester for in several years

What games are you playing?

I know what you were trying to say with your comment but Skyrim is about 12 years old now lol. Not quite a newer game
If you play other games from that era they play a lot better than Skyrim

Can the sources where ChatGPT got it’s information from be traced? What if it got the information from other summaries?
I think the hardest thing for these companies will be validating the information their AI is using. I can see an encyclopedia-like industry popping up over the next couple years.
Btw I know very little about this topic but I find it fascinating
That’s what I’m saying! I love the concept of assassin’s creed, but it’s just really uninspired.
Only Ubisoft could make a game about a time travelling assassin boring lol

Maybe it's easier for them to sell it instead of maintaining them?
Google has their hands in too many industries

How come you feel the need to pay for your search engine? What type of searches do you do?
I once knew a guy named Harry Hooker
