3·3 years agoI guess they used the auto suggest title feature where even the original article does not mention it. It’s mentioned in the subheading.

5·3 years agoFor some reason Youtube does the fastest and the most accurate voice recognition compared to the offline google Speech to Text. If they want to improve. Implement that in the Speech to Text app.

7·3 years agoKeepassDX. The best password manager IMHO. It supports saving passwords, ability to open them with biometrics and is seamless and offline. I have been using it since 2019. Redreader for reddit provides the best offline reddit experience. Also using it since 2019. Personaldnsfilter, pretty much a fire and forget app. No setup required at all. These are some of my favorite apps and I have more.

5·3 years agoIt had been a while since i last remembered it, but i knew the reason was stupid. So, I had written reasons in italic. But, I guess that was up for open interpretation and that included questionable stuff.

15·3 years agoPlay Store has strict rules for apps with user generated content. You have to provide ways to block and report users/content to stay on the play store. Glider didn’t provide a way to automatically report things by the user as hacker news doesn’t provide one. So, google suspended it. Here’s the github issue if you are interested: https://github.com/Mosc/Glider/issues/83

411·3 years agoIf you are using hacker news on mobile. I would recommend Glider. It’s a smooth hacker news client. Unfortunately, the dev had his app removed from the play store for reasons but you can access it from its github or fdroid.
There’s a network switch setting where you can disable 5g network. Manual network selection is not required.

Is there a non paywalled article somewhere? It asks for a sub the alternative asks for sign up and free trial.
