Correct, it will only have all future messages. Nothing historic. But it should sync literally everything going forward.

I use it on mobile and desktop regularly without sync issues. Has it always had that problem for you? I generally always get messages at the exact same time without fail.
Ackshully, that’s a jackdaw. Wait, where am I?
That’s great in theory, but you’ll have passwords for logging into OSes too which password managers do not help with and you better have it memorized or you’re going to have a bad time.
Very common for pass phrases, and not dissuaded. Pass phrases are good for people to remember without using poor storage practices (post it notes, txt file, etc) and are strong enough to keep secure against brute force attacks or just guessing based off knowledge of the user.
The better argument is that many keyboards don’t have an Insert key. I usually use Shift+Insert myself because it’s more likely to work on all terminal types, including Windows and Linux, but have ran into times where I just don’t have an insert, like on my laptop and Chromebook. So yeah, I might switch to Ctrl+Shift+V as my go to.
Anand left 10 years ago to the day of the announcement. Was pretty well timed and I doubt it was coincidental.
Shut down announcement 10 years to the day from Anand Lal Shimpi retiring from AnandTech.
You can definitely put me down for 0 because my parents didn’t love me enough.
Even more frustrating is that different releases and builds recategorize where certain settings are entirely. To the point where search is the only reliable way of knowing for sure you’ll get to the right place. They haven’t changed things too drastically recently but they kept moving shit around in Win10 throughout its lifetime.
Yep, if you’re in charge of managing hundreds of computers, you don’t want to guess at what it’ll do. We have our defaults but also have people who make exceptions depending on their own work needs. Tbh, I rarely use that button anyhow though, I right click on the start menu to get that menu instead and use shutdown, restart, or log out.
Err yeah, lol… That’s what I meant, but typed it wrong. And hmmm, not sure that’ll do it then but I will give it a try.
Does --force-cursor-grab
fix the issue where the mouse cursor might be misaligned with where you’re clicking? Hadn’t ever used that parameter in my setup and have avoided games that had 3rd party launchers because of this very issue.
I will say that in general I also agree, but there are games where I have been completely okay with it, like DRG. But those updates are always free and really just define (formerly) time period in which a long-term event is contained within. I do love that the latest season is really more of a chapter than a season since you can pick and choose whenever you want to jump into whichever season you want to play and progress through. Only seasonal events have time constraints now.
This is particularly nice since my DRG group has moved to playing Grounded instead, with the occasional DRG night and don’t want to feel tethered to a release schedule.

What you’re experiencing is generational bias and forming an opinion without actual facts. Be better.
My saying they’re a CM isn’t my giving them a pass. But dev vs CM is an important distinction regardless. A CM should know how to address people publicly and not incite even more rage by belittling people’s concerns. The only apology they gave so far was the most non-apology you could imagine too.
Spitz isn’t a dev, they’re a Community Manager, and a tone deaf one at that.
Lol yeah I don’t think OP knows what penultimate means.
To each their own. I get the need to have historical chat and all, and I run a Mattermost server for friends for the last few years and I depend on history there too. But on Signal it’s really just what I use with work peeps for after hours non-Teams IT chat in case something breaks and they needs emergency help since we all basically mute notifications for Teams after work.
