Head tracking is a gamechanger for flying or driving games

I feel like if I was playing Forza with head tracking I would get frustrated by my poor driving skills.

Majority of games don’t officially support Linux but yet they work fine with Proton, while occasionally requiring tweaks, while its appreciated that they’re aiming for Proton support in actuality developers should be aiming for a native Linux build with Vulkan instead of DX11/12.

Oh I know, whenever he sends out an email for an update to the web-app I react with a “😢” in outlook every time because he’ll just push updates without having anyone test them.

This is not a software company at all, lately he decided to write his own PDF editor and switch out the one he found on GitHub for it, well the folks in the shop certainly weren’t happy to find out they couldn’t print drawings anymore or that mobile devices had poor compatibility with it.

I have been laughed out every time I’ve mentioned it for years.

I got approval from my managers and IT to install a Linux based OS on my work desktop, then a half-wit Windows-fanboy dev chimed in claiming our insurance would not cover the operating system if there were ever a security breach, data loss, etc. to say I was infuriated was an understatement.

All we use is a Web-App to accomplish our tasks, no in-house proprietary executables or anything along those lines, hell they claimed their Web-App wouldn’t work on Firefox browsers, which of course was a lie.

I remember growing up being taught Windows, not how a computer works or a how a kernel communicates with the installed hardware, looking back at our education system it certainly frustrating and I doubt we’ll ever see any significant change.

Out of curiosity, how is WireGuard blocked in your country? I would assume you cellular provider and or ISP sniffs for the default port (51820) - can’t you just put it on another port?

Only game I care about from Microsoft is Halo Wars 2. Shame it got released as a UWP application.

I also know there is a script you can set up which will handle the initial contact to federate automatically.

I tried finding such a script but had no luck. I was able to export my subscription list from sh.itjust.works and imported it on my instance.

I had to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the communities I follow as I was experiencing the ‘Subscribe Pending’ issue but after a little while things seemed to start evening out and becoming a bit more stable.

My instance has been online for about a month, the supplied docker-compose.yaml was quite straightforward, had a little headache with Nginx but nothing overly complicated.

The long-con so to speak is federation, you have to subscribe to each community manually to begin federating with them, i have noticed timing issues with other instances such as Lemmy.world and have not been able to resolve them.

Redlib is great but has not seen a new release in over a year, the maintainer who took over the Libreddit project is clearly burnt out.
