  • Nothing just works.

I run Linux, not because I think it’s great, but because Windows is awful, and keeps getting worse. Furthermore it keeps abusing its majority market share to get away with increasingly scummy behaviour.

My Linux experience has been a lot more tinker free than Windows. There’s a ton of distros to choose from for the uninvested, my 60 year old mum runs Linux at this point and the only difference is she stopped calling all the time for tech support.

  • I’ll pay for convenience or a good service. When the legal option is more work than piracy that’s a problem. The entertainment industry at this point is kind of infamous for how late they are to adapt to changes. It took ages to accept streaming as a viable option, but they finally accepted it and found a way to make it terrible, too.

It’s not convenient when I can’t find what I want to watch, it’s not convenient when the show I am watching is suddenly gone from the streaming library. It’s not convenient when only a sequel to a movie is available for viewing.

Steam is a great example of how to make a great service that is actually convenient.

  • We recruit people with no IT background sometimes and we are doing great, consistently beating every other branch since a massive corporation bought us out. We have a great team that helps eachother out, but more importantly we work closely together with all the senior people within the company, most starting out in first line themselves at some point.

If there’s something a first liner is interested in they can schedule an appointment with someone who is our main player in that field and have a personal little course in that platform/whatever.

Seems your guys are very “us and them”, which helps no one.
