i never really even got in, now i dont even want to anymore

i think everyone is too scared of the regime to act. and even those who are not dont want to do anything because if you act alone, you will just be targeted alone and achieve nothing.
So what is needed is safety in numbers, people getting together.
Also one thing that even individual can do is help create image that others are actively doing stuff.Like, seeing graffittis that call for action creates image that at least one or more people are feeling confident enough to mildly break the law for the cause. At least that is how i would see it. I’m not sure if peacefully protesting helps or harms at this point.
them having no control or forethought makes thing worse for all of us. In my opinion, its in essence same type of behavior as throwing trash on the street.

yet still people want to visit usa. personally i would rather visit north korea if forced to choose.

because what you buy is what you support. and a lot of people support this shit. Buying stuff from companies should be viewed as sign of endorsement of their actions.
the “i do what i want with my money” people are so annoying. i wish they would be on the suffering side for change, maybe it would teach a little solidarity for others.

yea, though those games are not worth playing anyway. who knows what they do in the background, with root access they can hide it too.

and with steam one can play even non-steam games that are “windows only” by adding non-steam game. Proton works for those too.

this kind of talk is indication the bubble is starting to burst

Companies: Do use ai for everything always or you will be fired
Someone: makes job application using ai
company: not like that

hyperrogue is quite interesting one

things like that should give a pause for other corporations, when they consider where they buy their stuff from.

that will fly over majoritys heads. having to suffer lack of clean water is something even dumbest will understand is bad thing for them

then hopefully the city will be made to honor it

if you just give it away, assume it will be used for the worst thing you can imagine. You give it away with strict agreement that it will be used only for things you have intended.

why people invest in this? they will just lose their money

you can set permanent rules. Its very much active protection as in you have to actively fiddle with it when going to new sites, which also makes you more aware how much stuff they are running. So many sites load like 20 different things but need only 1 or 2 to function flawlessly.
Imo, it would be scary to browse without noscript, even with ublock on. For me its kind of like first line of defence, with ublock I can pretty safely test out what is needed for website to work and what isnt without worrying too much. Everything being blocked by default makes it more safe and if some website turns out to be really bad, i can set it as untrusted so i remember it later too if it appears again or if i go there again because i forgot.
And if I get really annoyed with fiddling with some website i want to work and which doesnt seem that threatening, i just set it temporarily all allowed.

paid tons of money to fool around while some who would be willing to work dont get hired no matter what

its just wasted electricity and water
why would they? the telemetry, spying and bloatware is the whole idea for them. At least for regular users. We are the product and the data they harvest from us and ads they force on us is the point. And why would they care, majority of people just sticks with whatever was presented to them first. No matter how much bloat and spyware they add, majority will never care enough to do anything about it because it doenst directly affect them beyond slowing the computer down, which they think will be solved by buying a new one.
