Sounds like some Filipino style crackdown, which did actually eventually lead to ICC arrest. Trial pending, anyway.
Shitposter while I tend to two babies. Maybe when I have my life back, I’ll help us get a few more niche communities back?

Imagine if they went full exploitive and made the ice cream flavor but then added an Israel flavor in some twisted fair and balanced way to undercut Jerry’s wishes.

No no, don’t recommend Linux to a Mac user. Suggest other kids toys, like an etch-a-sketch or something.
A while ago. Only upside is they say they don’t keep your prompts or train models, but I have my doubts.

Oh that makes sense, the codes probably open source. Those goons probably have minimal experience actually developing an app from scratch.

Maybe it’s my eyesight but I never noticed it graining. The only thing I remember is that the lighting isn’t ever as good. I did play a majority of it on the desktop, but that was mostly for ultra wide mod… over the shoulder games always make me kinda claustrophobic.

Oh no this one I know is real, I just mean, imagine how incredibly unlikely a story it’d be if they joined Lemmy or a Piefed instance.
They don’t really fit bluesky either but it’s popular enough I can see them try, lol
Edit: or wait, did you mean Truth Social being federated? Cause that’d be Not the Onion material lol

I beg to differ, I found the first one to play weirdly well on it. Didn’t play the second. I often used it as an example of what the deck can do, since it was smooth.

Now we need a parody article telling us the Whitehouse started hosting a fediverse instance. For once I don’t think people would eat that onion, lol

Yeah, that tracks with what I see, at least. Either it’s used as an excuse for layoffs that likely would happen anyway given the market, or they’re just included in a workflow without firing (the US was already in bad shape after COVID, with tech companies already laying off people they over-hired during lockdown)
I’ve got a friend who pays under the table to a guy to write and edit instructional videos, and still does that since there’s never enough videos to produce for her project. Just, now, the guy uses AI in his workflow and… I’d say maybe produces at about the same pace (fact checking the AI takes time, lol).
But basically, AI didn’t replace her copy writer / editor, they just scaled up (or at least, attempted to, lol).

It’s kind of a who’s who of questionable comedians. Curious from a moral perspective: if one takes the gig and donates their proceeds to a charitable cause, are they off the hook?
Another thing I’m reminded of is, I’ve heard many big comedians have had a gig at a corporate event at one point or another (I’ve heard some refer to them as terrible audiences lol). In that world, you’re kinda trained early on to never turn down a gig… but if they were to headline a company event for say, Nestle or United Healthcare or something, are we ok with that too?

Was gonna say, those exact names would be the people I expect to not go. Atsuko and Marc in particular would really surprise me.

Ooooh, I did get it working on deck before but yeah, looked kinda janky. That’s exciting news, although I’m still 50-50 on wanting to play with controller controls.

Darn, I was hoping for Vantacat.
Funny, a decade ago I would have suggested an AI do exactly this as impartial, but we don’t have that kind of AI, we have LLMs. Ugh, clearly they just want more corruption.

Appreciate the context. Still feels excessive, but at least more warranted than a lot of their other activities. I really hope they just go after corporations, but I doubt they will.

Ohhh. Great PSA to some of us who start out.

Ahh, ok that makes sense. Reading other posts, pretty sure my wifi chip is the same as OP.

This was also my first issue in Linux but it turned out my duel boot was somehow screwing things up. Windows broke WiFi for Linux, then when I booted into Windows it was broken there too. I blame Windows because it was right after a series of updates, but I have no idea why it’d impact other independent OS on other drives.
Unfortunately I forgot the solution. It was probably since bios impacting thing, like how they often say to disable fast boot and junk.
Mumble was… fine. My friends actually moved to Discord from Mumble for our MMO stuff but that was primarily because it was easier to invite randos to the chat. That quality makes it almost impossible to break away from atm.
I recall the latency being only a little worse than Discord, but I think that’s because a friend set up the server at his work as a side thing (he also hosted Minecraft and Terraria). It’s not too complex to setup, but your quality will depend a lot on the computer and network you’re running. At least, it did for us, back in the day.
We’ve thought about alternatives to Discord. Old names were Ventrilo and TeamSpeak but they’re just not very modern. Plus, now almost every chat app has voice, too. Just, for features, it’s hard to beat Discord at this… though I’m willing to read the other comments to get for ideas, too. Lol
