Funny, a decade ago I would have suggested an AI do exactly this as impartial, but we don’t have that kind of AI, we have LLMs. Ugh, clearly they just want more corruption.
Shitposter while I tend to two babies. Maybe when I have my life back, I’ll help us get a few more niche communities back?

Appreciate the context. Still feels excessive, but at least more warranted than a lot of their other activities. I really hope they just go after corporations, but I doubt they will.
Ohhh. Great PSA to some of us who start out.
Ahh, ok that makes sense. Reading other posts, pretty sure my wifi chip is the same as OP.
This was also my first issue in Linux but it turned out my duel boot was somehow screwing things up. Windows broke WiFi for Linux, then when I booted into Windows it was broken there too. I blame Windows because it was right after a series of updates, but I have no idea why it’d impact other independent OS on other drives.
Unfortunately I forgot the solution. It was probably since bios impacting thing, like how they often say to disable fast boot and junk.
I usually liken it to video games, ya. Is it worse that nothing? Sure, but that flight or road trip, etc, is a bigger concern. Not to mention even before AI we’ve had industrial usage of energy and water usage that isn’t sustainable… almonds in CA alone are a bigger problem than AI, for instance.
Not that I’m pro-AI cause it’s a huge headache from so many other perspectives, but the environmental argument isn’t enough. Corpo greed is probably the biggest argument against it, imo.
So, life of a humanities major like my wife. Actually, most majors that weren’t STEM.
If it helps anyone in this situation, you can try to bank on other skills. My wife is doing great now but got her start because of her bilingualism, and even that was only 35k a year. My sister did a little better with her music degree by pivoting to community manager, although in her case she had experience modding for a well known streamer. That was pretty good money right out the gate.
Point is, programming isn’t your everything, even if you’re leveraging something from your personal life.
Yes but it is really a Google News clone without random shit like “10 Anime Characters Who Ate Right but Still Died Young” or “50 Crazy Times Animals Did Taxes, #34 Will Blow You Away?”
I get an astonishingly junk food feed on my Google app, but you’re right to seek alternatives. It’s even peddling the propaganda site Whitehouse.gov.
Wish I had an answer but I have to track on my main Windows PC using Launchbox since they don’t have Linux support (it’s built on .net, making that very hard). Someone got it working with Wine supposedly, but meh. At least steam is automatic so Deck progress is logged.
It’s frustrating since they just released a bunch of useful tracking tools too.
Upside, usually the controllers are extremely easy to fix. I’m not sure if they give free replacement pads still, but they used to if you asked support.
I’ve had other problems than shoulders on my pros, and never with the ultimate one I got, those seem to have a pretty solid build.
That just sounds like… what was it called… Cleverbot? Lol
Like NFTs before them, tech bros trying to squeeze a technology into use cases that really don’t need it.
LLMs are language models. What next, setup Stable Diffusion to do my taxes?
Mike Lee is a notoriously despicable person even by GOP standards and the bill doesn’t have any legs. Like, just a week ago he said terrible things about the Minnasotan politicians who were shot dead in their homes, and he’s also the one who was pushing to sell off public lands (which he was bullied out of; also seems to be in the pocket of the Mormon cult).
The US stance on NATO is complicated under the current US regime but I doubt it’ll be by this assholes bill.
I like this analogy and generally avoid using GPS (admittedly it’s out of laziness lol). The most insane part to me is I live where everything is on a grid and somehow people are still impressed I can figure out how to get places, even without having been there. GPS brain is real.
That was my thought, having followed the social media coverage of recent unrest in Iran over hair covering and so on. Iran does need regime change, but Israel is definitely not the right people to do it. No idea the solution, but I hope people can find a way to stay safe.
Bad news except you can’t trust TV either. Or reading the news, lately. At least regardless of the medium, general advice carries-- double check sources, learn which are credible, etc.
I just hope people are following links and not just reading headlines, right? …Right?
Yes but wouldn’t you like to sign up for an outlook account? No? Sorry that wasn’t a question, this full screen window has no X and you will comply.
… unless you do the thing that skips it, but man that’s an awful experience.
I’ve seen enough knew high sock posts to know these are not apropos of nothing.
Honestly their algorithm seems to mostly push low quality, South Asian, and/or AI generated content lately, when randomly playing off of something like Ms Rachel or Sesame Street. Nothing disgusting, although maybe a little trippy (in AI case). My daughter really digs the Bollywood inspired kids stuff though.
Darn, I was hoping for Vantacat.
