Having been a player of “triple A” games for a loooong time, they are shoddy at best and appallingly broken at worst (see especially: on launch, immediately after a successor is released). I haven’t seen a decent game launch that wasn’t indie in over a decade, and I’ll only be quiet about it when even one game from a big name publisher doesn’t suck hairy donkey balls.

It’s all about the profits, baby. Squeeze those pennies until they bleed. Buggy games, horribly inadequate servers, mass-banning players automatically and inaccurately, cheaters galore; doesn’t matter as long as profits go up. The CEO of EA or Ubi or whatever is no better, don’t get it twisted.

While usually unimportant for most use-cases, and with each offering differing features and capabilities, in data-heavy systems speed can be an important factor in determining whether to use one file system over another.

It’s also ‘my car can beat your car in a drag race’ for geeks, because again it usually doesn’t matter and features are far more important than speed for the typical user.

Yeah yeah but I want to play games newer than the turn of the century, watch Netflix and prime videos now and then, and I can’t be asked to amass thousands of songs, so here we are.

I’ve tried Mull and went back, but I can’t remember why. Iceraven is ‘fine’ but seems a touch buggy for some builds. I used to use Fennec for a long time, but I think IR allows installing ‘unofficial’ add-ons that haven’t been vetted or whatever by Mozilla for mobile. But I’ll have a look see, maybe my issue with Mull has been resolved.

Chocolatey ftw. I was already eyeing it when I jumped to LW so I did the setup for choc and now I have most of my software being managed through it. It’s not perfect but on a schedule, it’s as set-and-forget as it can be for Windows.

Clearly 🐺. Been on it like, 3y+? Maybe longer, it’s been my primary for a long time. 🦊 as a backup, and for DRM stuff. Chrome/Chromium for shit that just doesn’t play well with 🦎. Edge (for windows) is my ‘I need to test this with a vanilla browser’ and cba to disable ublock etc from chrome incognito.

I stopped in 2007 and haven’t looked back, and advise friends and family to do the same. This is just more ammo for the “but why” rebuttal speech, and baby, “wanting your cpu to not die” is an awfully juicy bullet.

A competing company offers faster speeds but last time I checked, it was around $300 a month for better speeds while retaining ‘small business’ service (to sidestep data caps). My isp has gig fiber… 4 miles away… and isn’t expanding it. Kill me.
