I feel like the fact they paid the same party that investigated them is an obvious enough conflict of interest to dismiss this out of hand. Whether the report is actually trustworthy or not, there is an incentive to come to a conclusion that aligns with whomever paid them and that alone should make people question the conclusions being made.

I dont even want to think about how many partitions there are on my PC. windows has 4 or 5 just existing, then there’s root, home and swap plus 2 more for the 2 other drives. So… 9 or 10? its been a while since I had a reason to care.

As for what you should do, if you are replacing windows, it wont really matter what the format on the windows part is because youre going to need to back up the save data and reinstall those games eventually anyway. You cant really run the same game installs on both OSes.

I have an nvidia card too. As far as the graphics card driver not working, if you are running Ubuntu or something similar, the OS does not install all the dependencies for the graphics card driver correctly unless you force the installation of packages that were held back. And if you’ve made multiple attempts at this, you’re probably going to need to remove the prior installation attempts first.

You fool! You own an nvidia card! The nouveau driver WILL result in 1/30th the fps that the proprietary card will if it works at all with vulkan.

In other words, it’d be fucking unplayable.

Also “it broke my system” is vague. What did you do and what was the exact result?

Linux mint is 0.07%… are you telling me that over 95% of the linux installs are other distros?

Why do you think anyone bothered to write a ntfs driver if you could read and write to ntfs without it? Why do you think windows cant read ext4? What do you think file systems are?

We have a specific driver for reading and writing to ntfs for a reason.

Theyd need a ntfs driver to do anything. If you try to do what you are suggesting without one, bad things happen. Unless that part of the partition isn’t ntfs formatted.
