This was a distraction from Venezuela, which was a distraction from Epstein, which was a distraction from the fact we elected this guy twice.

IDK, a lot of that data center AI hardware is built to self-destruct after a few years. It’s going to take time for the factories to retool before we see prices drop back down.

The closeted ones may still vote for a woman just to say they aren’t part of the problem, like they did with Obama. But the candidate has to sell change, they aren’t going to vote for the same policies but advanced by someone who doesn’t look like them.

Which is why it is so strange to see the a female candidate pander to those voters. Plenty of stupidity to go around.

That’s an incredibly reactionary take on technology. Look at how open source is qualitatively different from their proprietary counterparts for a clear example of how the base doesn’t just dictate how a tool is used, but how tools are made and how the constraints built into the tool effect how they are used.

I’ve read enough Marx to know the base dictates the shape of the superstructure which includes technology like LLMs.

As if this technology isn’t a product and in service of capitalist relations. Go read Chomsky to see how CNC machines were designed in a way to strengthen capitalist control. gAI is being developed with the same business logic: eliminate jobs at the cost of quality and robustness.

And he encouraged others to do so. It is almost like this is a bigger issue for women or girls for some reason. I’m probably sexist for noticing.

Joking about how right wing
cistransphobic women are „actually“ just men in drag

People become more tribal under scarcity conditions and the scarcity is largely artificial.

The United States has negotiated “Pax Silica” so that it doesn’t need Taiwan for chips…

I guess they would just kidnap, I mean “capture”, the president of Taiwan to be charged in their courts. No need to invade, it’s just “law enforcement” without a warrant like what Trump is doing now.

She will say this is the war to end all wars or some BS like that. Words mean nothing to these people.

Low key yes. So many Americans have this “well it doesn’t affect me” attitude.

And pax silica will lessen the geopolitical fallout by ensuring there is fab redundancy outside of Taiwan.

I do wonder if they had a referendum whether this war would have been avoided. Maybe I’m just being idealistic but even if Crimea had voted to stay with Ukraine then that would have at least gone a long way to show it isn’t simply the will of the hegemon. Or if Crimea had voted to go independent then the international community could create a new security agreement.

Yes, that is good of China to not act like the USA. Which is why it is concerning when they start to act like a more competent version of the USA.

I wasn’t the one who made that claim of Xi, I was the one who showed up with receipts and said you would have to read between the lines to arrive at a similar conclusion: that Xi & the party will use force if necessary to achieve the goal of reunification. Do you not think that is more relevant?

Glad you specified pre-2022, as in before the invasion that displaced many residents; yeah, I would support any region to hold referendums on the matter of self-determination. I think Ukraine was wrong to keep their people from voting on the matter, if they had issues with the process then they should have worked towards consensus on the matter of having a legitimate referendums.
Sure, but why is he the alternative we should bring up?
