The main Syncthing app for android has stopped development because of shit like this.
You just cant build actually useful apps that use low level access anymore without google kicking you out of the play store. But its becoming a OS level problem too. Lots of things are just not possible anymore without rooting. If someone doesnt hard fork the AOSP at some point soon, the future will look very grim even for custom roms because reversing all the damage google is causing is way too much work for a couple of volunteer devs.
Syncthing never had an official Android app, and the current iteration, Syncthing-Fork, is updated quite frequently.
I try to stay away from the play store at this point. Even Tasker is sourced from the dev himself (license is like $4, absolutely worth it), and is more capable than the play store version.

Yeye i know thats why called it the “main” app. I switched to Syncthing-Fork too of course.
