Check price… Start at 41k. Yeah… “Affordable”… Maybe for a rich middle-class man. But for the vast majority, affordable would be around 20-25k brand new, knowing that most lower class families would rather buy a 5-10k used ICE car that a brand new electric car.
I bought it used at half the price from new. But yes affordable may be overstating it, what I meant was non luxury.
However there are affordable BEV now that start at half the price of the VW ID.4, and some of them are actually pretty decent.
I just preferred the bigger more luxurious car used at a similar price.
