In this case, it’s their neighbor who has been threatened multiple times recently on this exact topic. It stands to reason that the bellicose government is trying to manufacture consent for an operation.

The current administration may be trying to manufacture consent for a military operation, but cartel violence in Mexico has been an issue for decades. This has included the assassination of Mexican politicians.

It isn’t a contradiction but clarification. Your response implies a binary truth where only one statement can be correct. I’m noting that both statements can be correct at the same time.

Before you try to think I’m going to argue otherwise, cartel violence doesn’t justify an American military response.

You cannot read. I’m literally endorsing a blend of the situations. Whatever. We see the same thing with different words. Take care.

As much as I’d like it to be that, no. El País is from Spain, but widely read here in Mexico… Think of the Guardian or BBC news on US events, kinda like that.

Mexico sincerely does have a Cartel issue, don’t let anyone fool you otherwise, but most people here in Sonora for example just deal with it as a part of life here. As much as it sucks, it’s Mexico’s issue to deal with.

It already looks like this fascist administration is gearing up for action in that regard. With the sanctions reducing their income from oil exports, this is all meant to exacerbate the suffering and hardship.
