Never had issue with this. For my work I’ve always used Blender 3D, Gimp, and Krita. The one thing that used to hold me back from using Linux was my Steam game library, but then Valve introduced Proton and all my reasons to stay on Windows evaporated.

Been a happy Linux user for a few years now.

I haven’t bought it myself yet. When Palworld was all the hype on my discord server I noticed it still was incredibly jank. Clipping, pathing, physics, AI, those sorts of things.

If the issues get polished I’ll probably buy it. But the devs seem to be doing quite well so far.

This was my reaction too when I read the title, complete with curiosity about what they mean with “forever”.

This whole “dead game” rhetoric seems to stem from the sane idea present in capitalism that something must be constantly growing.

People have bought Palworld, and they’ve made their money back and then some. And despite this not being a “live service” type game, it’s still receiving updates and still has active players.

I’ve recently finished playing the entire Ratchet and Clank collection… Well… With the exception of the PS3 spinoffs.

But yeah, was surprised the Deck can actually handle PS3 emulation quite well. I was holding off on playing Rift Apart, but when I got Motorstorm running nicely, a game that previously was completely impossible to run decently, I was convinced I could finally go and play all of R&C.

Now I just got to wait till…

Anyway, Rift Apart ran great after some tweaking. The default settings make the game look fugly.

It’s easier on my eyes. Which is anecdotal, but a large enough portion of the population use dark modes for the same reason. That is not coincidence, and it’s not something I’d write off as merely being hype.

There’s nothing new about dark mode either. Wikipedia is just slow in the uptake. Besides Wikipedia, dark modes have existed for more than a decade.

Hmm… Under normal circumstances, sure. But this is an odd thing to say in a conversation specifically about the subject.

Having read lots of books, I tend to prefer printed text a lot. Yet I still use dark mode as much as possible; it’s the glare. It’s irritating to read something on a white, glaring surface. Paper doesn’t have that.

I’ll read Wikipedia on e-ink, but on LCD I’ll use dark mode.

But wouldn’t that be only necessary if it needed to render real-time graphics at such a scale? If I’m correct, all its doing is playing back videos.

Wouldn’t just one GPU be enough to run the Sphere, or a I getting something wrong?

I remember hearing about that it’s not exactly high resolution, each “pixel” being a bunch of pretty large lamps.

I mean, it runs flawlessly for me as well with all the DLCs… Just not splitscreen multiplayer.

I’ve been down the rabbit hole of looking for a solution around the controller connection applet freeze, and with some people one solution works, with some others another… Sometimes temporarily, sometimes permanently… Considering the variability surrounding this issue I don’t think an actual solution has been found yet.

I’ve been over a grand multitude of solutions, including this one. None of them worked, I’m afraid.

This is an incredibly wrong way to do it and absolutely terrible advice.

The point of a modding tool is that it keeps your actual game directory clean, and that mods don’t end up physically overwriting either the game’s files or each other’s files.

Switch emulation works pretty great. But be advised; there are problems with getting Mariokart 8 Delux splitscreen working; the game tends to soft lock on the controller applet. Rayman Legends the complete edition has no such problem and I’ve had a blast playing with my family.

PlayStation 2 works great and can even be pushed to render games at higher than native resolutions. I’m currently playing Spyro The Eternal Night and Ratchet Gladiator.

Since it can run PlayStation 2 that good I don’t see any problems with the Deck running GameCube or Wii games… Except for the instances where Wii games may need motion controls.

PlayStation 3 requires fiddling with the settings on a per-game basis. And then still you’ll probably have to downscale the native resolution and limit the framerate on games to make them run well. But the PS3 emu comes with FSR built in and I can’t really complain.
