Steven Crowder is a well known asshole with an internet presence that he uses to sow misogyny and other forms of hate.
I don’t want to see his face in memes.

That asshole shouldn’t have a meme, cmm.
Just use Calvin.
Little Bobby Tables is my favorite XKCD strip of all time, and I don’t even actively work with databases.
I thought it had some super intrusive anticheat.
How does the deck handle something like that?
If meta joined, the users that make most fediverse content now will see their engagement drop.
That’s where you lose me again.
Why would the engagement drop if a ton more users could consume your content.
It’s not like the ratio of content creators to lurkers is any better on meta apps than here.
Btw thank you for the good faith discussion, I don’t think that would have happened at the old place.
I know that you have put more thought into this topic than I did and you just might be right.
But dude that wallmart analogy misses the point by a mile.
Wallmart kills the small stores by simply undercutting them, this has nothing to do with what meta might do.
And you didn’t really argue my point that people like you and I could and probably would consume meta content if it was federated.
But why would anyone that is part of the fediverse right now jump ship if meta came and went away again?
I damn sure will never create another meta account or use any meta app. Would you?
I understand all those points.
I just don’t quite see how that would kill the fediverse.
After all wouldn’t we be exactly where we are now if meta disconnected again?
It’s not like you and I would suddenly start using threads if it started federating.
Well it’s German, we can always split up our long words into a long string of shorter words.
If I want to compare something to another specific thing I would probably never use “vergleichsweise” (which is more or less just “rather” like you described “relatively”).
I would probably use “im Vergleich zu” (in comparison to).
But maybe that’s just me.
And writing in English about German stuff makes my brain feel weird so maybe I don’t make much sense rn.
Yeah but when I posted this thread seemed emty and I hoped to spark some conversations, which I think kind of worked.
That’s cool I guess.
I understand that I am just feeding into my own bubble and biases but I still don’t want to read an article with such a negative headline.
I mean I guess.
But I always liked the idea of reclaiming stuff from the assholes.
So if people think this template is nice to make memes with, I always enjoyed taking it away from Crowder without giving him the power to stop anyone from using it.
In my eyes he doesn’t own this meme, but I can see your point.
